Grace Gallagher is a British designer, producing surfaces and objects for interiors, that demonstrate a preoccupation with materiality and process. All of her pieces are handmade using a mixture of traditional and contemporary techniques, with an honesty to the rawness and irregularity of the chosen material.
After studying Visual Communication at Glasgow School of Art and living and working as a designer in Berlin for two years, Grace moved to London to complete her Masters in Textiles at the Royal College of Art.
For Grace, drawing and making are meditative processes that connect her with her chosen material. It is about slowing down, looking down, taking a moment to be present and really look at the world around us. It is about celebrating the beauty of the ordinary, the subtle and the overlooked, through pattern, texture and shape.
